Trailhead: Ecola Point Parking Lot here

Route: Ecola Point Lot to Indian Beach, and back. Map of the park is here

Ecola State Park is a beautiful coastal region near Cannon Beach along the Oregon coast. On a beautiful June day, the weather was perfect to be in shorts and a t-shirt. The hike begins at the lot. You can find the trailhead to the north. Immediately you will start weaving in and out of spruce trees. There are gorgeous views of the Oregon coast throughout. A few minutes in and off in the distance, you will be able to see a lighthouse.

The trail is full of switchbacks and it’s up and down the entire way. No ascent is too drastic though, we saw many old couples who were fine hiking the trail. Lots of dogs too! The entire route from the lot to Indian Beach is 1.5 miles. Once you are there, you can relax at the beach, grab lunch, and then turn around and head back.

Overall this is a short hike with extremely rewarding views. Highly recommended!
